The Audio Note™ copper audio signal capacitors have a superb sonic character, they have a life, colour, lack of harshness and evenness of dynamic behaviour across the frequency range. Recommended as replacements in old and new valve amplifiers alike (and even in the odd transistor amplifier), and essential for DIY projects.
The larger value capacitor are also suitable for either speaker crossovers or power supply applications. Those above and including 75mm in length are very heavy and should be mounted with suitable care to prevent the lead out wires breaking in transport.
Note well, that the body of these components are conductive and will effectively short two points that touch the body, so in some cases you may have to insulate the component with insulating material such as electricians tape.
Our signal capacitors are marked with a line on the right of the component`s body, this marks the start of the foil. It is my experience that the Audio Note™ sound the best when the start of the foil is "facing" the incoming signal, see the drawing below.

Mcap EVO Oil
The new EVO, range of capacitors from Mundorf incorporate their amazing EVOLUTION winding technology. This features an unusually narrow but tall capacitor reel. This format results in two benfits over the normal dimensioning of capacitors. Firstly, as a shorter width is required the signal path between the huge contact areas is greatly reduced, thus an extremely low equivalent series resistance/ESR is achieved. Secondly, in order to achieve the same capacitance the number of paralleled windings is larger than with regular caps, thus an minimized equivalent series inductivity/ESL is achieved.
The winding process is incredibly precise, the reels are spooled by hand in especially developed housing. Resulting in near avoidance of vibration and microphonic effects during the winding process. Furthermore Mundorf use the purest Polypropylene foil vaporized with the thickest metal layer possible. The Capacitors are manufactured with one leadout larger than the other to allow for horizontal and vertical mounting, the shorter lead also indicates the caps outer foil.
The MCap EVO Oil combines the magic of the MCap EVO‘s sound characteristic with the acoustic advantages of oil impregnated capacitors. Furthermore, the oil verion has an additional wrapping process. The screen print on the can comes in red giving it an appropriate quality look.

The MR range of capacitors is the result of an extensive ground breaking 2 year research programme into audio grade capacitors.
The resulting capacitor is at the leading edge of today’s high quality audio grade capacitors The component is manufactured in such a way to substantially reduce the negative effects of resonance on sonic quality which is inherent in a wound component. This results in a sonic characteristic which is difficult to equal. Manufactured from metallised polypropylene film the component is housed in a coloured acrylic tube and encapsulated in an epoxy resin to assist in the overall sonic performance.
Building on the success of their high end range of MR capacitors, Clarity Cap have launched the all new CMR range. CopperConnect technology introduces an embedded copper lattice to the end connection, dramatically reducing grain boundary crossings and signal path resistance, freeing capacitor designs achieve new levels of audio performance. CopperConnect technology dramatically reduces grain boundary crossings in the end connection and enables designs to employ narrower films for reduced capacitor ESR without introducing the corollary increase in end connection impedance. The philosophy of eliminating as many crystal boundaries as possible is extended to the use of premium grade 1.0mm2 tinned oxygen free copper leads. ClarityCap have been manufacturing high quality audio grade capacitors in the UK for the last 20 years, The ESA range is a step up from the SA range, building up from the knowledge gained during the extensive research programme recently undertaken by ClarityCap.
The research programme looked into ways of reducing mechanical resonances inherent in a wound capacitor to hitherto unachievable levels. ESA capacitors are designed to offer a mid way house between the highly regarded SA range and the new no compromise MR range. Manufactured from polypropylene film the component is supplied in the familiar wrap and end seal style, wrapped in a polyester tape and encapsulated in an epoxy resin. They are available in both 250Vdc and 600Vdc ratings.

Auricap XO is made using the very finest obtainable polypropylene film and new high purity continuous cast copper leads.
